  • ESG Impact

Tigeraire’s focus is to improve human capital on the job site through increased talent retention, employee engagement, and improved workplace conditions, health, and safety. Combating heat stress is a major factor in improving human capital and a growing focus of governments across the globe. Making helmets more comfortable while combating heat stress and heat stroke is the very reason Tigeraire exists.

Heat safety is a climate change byproduct that is an increasing regulatory focus and workplace safety issue.  It is a critical component towards improving human capital, maximizing corporate social responsibility, and providing societal sustainability.  A holistic approach to ESG is equally focused on human capital as it is on climate stewardship.

This year, the Biden Administration initiated a historic commitment to heat safety and the US Department of Labor held the first-ever public hearings to protect millions of workers from heat-related illness and injuries as part of an Outdoor and Indoor Heat-Related Hazards national emphasis programOSHA will begin heat-related workplace inspections to prevent workers from suffering preventable injuries, illnesses, and fatalities in over 70 industries.

The Administration’s recent action is largely in response to the growing problem of workplace heat-related deaths.  The three-year average of worker heat-related deaths has doubled since the early 1990s.  More recently, in 2019 there were 43 work-related deaths due to environmental heat exposure in the United States.

Tigeraire’s proprietary patented technology not only offers an innovative solution to reduce heat stress, but it also eliminates the use of “safety hacks” which are far too present in the workplace. For decades, industrial workers in hot climates, such as New Orleans, have improvised with rudimentary methods of cooling, including taping wrapped ice-filled cups inside their helmets.

Dixie Cups, Saran Wrap, and Duct tape are not reliable safety precautions, nor should they be considered components of sustainable workplace conditions. Tigeraire’s products are a safety measure that provide a sustainable solution to rising temperatures and the resulting increasingly dangerous work environment.
